Have you experienced your game being shorter? Wonder why?
Time slots are incredibly strict for all games in SF.
Did you know:
At kick off time, the referee is supposed to start their watch for your game time.
So, your game was shorter, what eats up your game time?
Game day photo roster.
-
EVERY TEAM MUST HAVE THEIR OWN PRINED GAME DAY PHOTO ROSTER.
- When you print, you can also print your opponents, if you wanted to.
“Going to get it from the manager” takes 2-3 minutes and eats into game time.
2nd and 3rd grade - 1 minute subbing windows
- All players should stay on the field, unless being subbed out. It is not a team talk moment - You have 1 minute, so the longer you take, the more your game time is lost.
Coach equipment
- Properly inflated game balls to be supplied by the home team.
- Setting up your camera, bench, getting your coffee should all be done way before kick off, or after kick off so the game can get going.
Player equipment
- Shin Guards MUST be on the inside of socks. Shin Guards that are itchy must still be worn on the inside.
- Absolutely NO JEWELRY - no tape over earrings or fitbits under sleeves.
Referees - Yes they can be to blame too.
- Sometimes they talk too much, or are too polite to overtalking coaches (see header image...).
- They also need a break, need to use the restroom, or take a drink/eat a snack.
- They are intimidated by yelling sidelines and get flustered with timings.
Post Game
- Please save all team talks and group huddles for after you have moved away from the sideline.
- The next team should be ready to move in and play, so please move out, just as your previous opponent did for you.
With all of these little things adding up to lost game time, please do your part in keeping games on time.
If you see something, or have an idea for SFYS to help speed up these processes even more, let us know.
