Mercy Rule Update

The mercy rule is broken if you win by 6 or more. Winnning by 5 keeps the mercy rule unbroken! This is for recreational soccer. Upper House and Varsity do not have a mercy rule.

256 games with scores posted in the first 3 weeks of Spring 2023.

22 games had scores reported with the mercy rule broken - 8%

Not one team has broken the mercy rule twice, so far. 🙌

- 4%, or 11, games were won by 8 more goals.

- Those with egregious scorelines have been communicated with. 

All scores have been logged, and updated in Sqwad.

- Updated in Sqwad means goals were taken away until the scoreline reflects winning by 5. This is a manual process, so:

Talk to them before the game about what to expect and how, if needed, you will adjust to keep the mercy rule unbroken.
