Sun 8/20 is the 2nd Annual FOGGOLAZO!

Sunday, 8/20 at Ft. Scott : FOGGOLAZO! Community Soccer Day and Summer Soccer Jamboree for incoming 2nd & 3rd Grade Teams, Player Challenges, the Futboleros, Games + Prizes, Auction, Food Trucks & ⚽ Fun for all ages! Free to attend and open to the public.

Players, Referees and Teams can fundraise to compete for awesome prizes. Everyone who participates in the fundraising or the Jamboree will get a FOGGOLAZO! logo t-shirt, designed by a local artist (unique every year - start your collection now!). All of the events we have planned will happen throughout the day so anyone can join us at any time between 10 and 4.

  • FOGGOLAZO Sponsorship Opportunities

Dozens of incoming Fall 2nd and 3rd grade teams will compete in the Summer Jamboree, but all friends and family are welcome to participate in the FOGGOLAZO! 

This year's FOGGOLAZO! will be at the beautiful Fort Scott Ballfields in the Presidio, just steps from the Golden Gate Bridge!

The Futboleros will once again be on hand to amaze, entertain and train, the San Jose Earthquakes will have their famous prize wheel, there'll be a photo booth for team & player photos, sponsor tables, merch, contests and fun! The SFYS Youth Advisory Council will be on hand, as well as the SFYS volunteer Board, SF Ref Camp graduates, local soccer clubs, current and former SF Youth Soccer players, referees, coaches, managers and Team STARs, and ... YOU!

The Summer Jamboree will kick off at 9am on Ft. Scott North & South and
the FOGGOLAZO! will be underway from 10am until 4.

Day of events will also include:

• Round robin mini-matches with multiple opponents, to introduce incoming 2nd Grade teams to the full check-in and referee experience
• Youth referees train for game day with on-site mentors
• Soccer activities and challenges with the fabulous Futboleros
• Prize Wheel and merch giveaways from SJ Earthquakes and Bay FC
• Drawings for even more amazing Prizes!
• Food and Drink from The Pop Nation, Poke A Go Go, Waldscraft Bakery

Volunteer Recruiting

Come out and experience the fun of SFYS's second annual FOGGOLAZO! event on Sunday, August 20 from 10 am - 4 pm!  Not only will there be 2nd and 3rd grade games all day at the Jamboree, but there will be so much more this year.  The fabulous Futboleros will be wow-ing the crowd with their amazing tricks, a balloon artist and photo booth will be on site, we'll have art activities and face painting, food trucks and popsicles, time to meet a referee and ask about their job, and awesome prizes to give away.  To help make the day run smoothly, we are looking for some volunteers. Every volunteer slot is one hour and you'll get a FOGGOLAZO! 2023 shirt and SFYS swag bag + one prize ticket per shift!

While the day is about celebrating the community we would like to remind our supporters that SFYS is a 501c3 organization which remains operable by support from members like you. Aside from league play, which is funded by player registration, all additional SFYS programming is donation-centric. Supplemental programs are considered integral to the foundation of our soccer community and for building future leaders on and off the field. Help us reach our goal of $50,000 for SF Youth Soccer Programs including our free SFYS @ School program and our Youth Advisory Council. 

Our annual FOGGOLAZO! event combines the 2nd & 3rd Grade Summer Jamboree with a Community Soccer Day that highlights and helps raise funds for the types of support we offer to the soccer community - Prize tickets can be earned doing any of the following:   

• Are you a Coach?  Sign up for the Master Class and discuss how to get the most out of your players.
• Are you a Goalkeeper?  Compete in Goalie Wars to try and stop more shots than your competitors. (All Ages)
• Are you a Soccer Fan? Help SFYS fundraise while working out! 
• Are you a Player, Coach or STAR?  Take the opportunity to strike up a conversation with any of our amazing youth referees and mentors to see why they do what they do (or find out how much training they've completed). 
• Come meet a volunteer Board Member at the Check In table and ask them why they volunteer.

… And if you're lucky, you might get to meet this year’s local artist - a rising 9th grader - who designed this year's FOGGOLAZO logo!

Anything you participate in - whether that's a Jamboree game, getting your picture taken at the FREE photo booth, or participating in the Master Class (coaches) or Goalie Wars - will earn you a chance to win a prize.
