Happy Summer, SFYS Families!

It’s been a busy summer and we’re closing in on Fall season (time to make sure your team is in order!). But there’s still some summer left and we’re planning a 25th Anniversary celebration that you’re all invited to! 

Staff Update

• Thank you to our former Director of Programming, Lee Dunne!  While at SFYS, he designed the SFYS @ Home Power 5s, the SFYS Coaching Curriculum and greatly expanded our SFYS @ School program and became a published author on coaching strategies. While we are sad to see him go, we are confident that the foundation he helped build will continue to flourish - and happily will get to continue to collaborate with him, as he remains in the San Francisco soccer ecosystem (we won’t spoil the announcement 😉).

• All SFYS Families: Super excited to see you all at Fort Scott on 8/18 for our 3rd Annual FOGGOLAZO! Community Soccer Day! This year, we’re celebrating 25 years of service to San Francisco youth, highlighting and raising funds for the youth leadership and equity progamming we offer to the soccer community.
  
  

For Coaches

• Fall Season Draft Flights are posted here: Girls Teams  |  Boys Teams. They are based on team census submissions and at the younger recreational ages, an effort to group mixed gender teams. Coaches, your feedback and considerations are important! Deadline Monday, 7/29 to submit feedback (must be done via linked form so all responses can be tracked). 
  
  
• Deadline for 2nd & 3rd grade team registration in the 8/18 Preseason Summer Jamboree at the FOGGOLAZO! is also this Monday,  July 29th. We’re close to capping the boys’ side - girls teams are underrepresented at present. Lets go, girls!

• New Coaches: If you haven’t signed up for your coach training, now is the time! SFYS is hosting a number of courses in August - and they’re required for participation in the Fall. Make sure you book your spot!
  

• Reminder: Wednesday 8/21 @ 6pm (Virtual) Mandatory Preseason Coach Meeting
